The school's Business Enterprise department have had the great pleasure to work on their first partnership project with Mile Cross Primary School and City College Norwich, in a Dragons’ Den competition. The Year 5 pupil Dragons’ Den competition saw Mile Cross pupils face real life business dragons, alongside Norwich School Sixth Form pupils.

On Wednesday 28th November U6 Business Enterprise pupils delivered Business Plan presentations at the Enterprise Centre in collaboration with the Norwich Business School at UEA.

The Under 14 Rugby Team were crowned county champions last week after wins against Wymondham College (20-0), Langley (26-5), Gresham’s (14-0) and CNS (24-5) secure the trophy.

The Senior School musical, Chicago, impressed audiences across five sell-out shows at Norwich Playhouse, 14th-17th November 2018.

Ten members of the Norwich School orienteering club travelled to Lancashire on Saturday morning for what turned out to be a historic weekend for the club. Everyone ran well, and the squad were a credit to the school over the whole weekend.

Norwich School are excited to be supporting Norfolk based charity, Explorers against Extinction, by hosting their Sketch for Survival exhibition in the Crypt Gallery from Friday 23 -  Sunday 25 November. This will be the final opportunity that the public have to see the artwork - which was also shown in London, Manhattan and New York - before being auctioned online.

Norwich School has a network of tunnels buried beneath the school playground. Built in September 1939, the tunnels served as an air raid shelter for pupils of Norwich School during the Second World War.

Norwich School has been awarded Norfolk Chamber’s highest level of their Young Chamber Enterprise Recognition Award.

Six pupils from the 8th Norwich (Norwich School) Sea Scouts have been awarded the prestigious scouts explorer belt, which is recognised as 'a challenge of a lifetime.' What started as a self-led and planned cycling expedition, through northern France, became a pilgrimage of remembrance when they found the graves of 17 fallen Norwich School "Old Norvicensians" at which they paid their respects.

On Tuesday 13th November, Norwich School hosted the third Norfolk Mathematics Symposium. The event saw 18 schools from across East Anglia gather to hear from three influential speakers, as well as have the opportunity to ask questions.

On Thursday 8th November, the Norwich School U14 Girls Hockey team competed in the Regional round of the EHB school’s hockey cup.

On Friday 9th November, the school gathered in Norwich Cathedral for the annual Remembrance Service to commemorate those who have given their lives in the defence of our country. Also on Friday, Norwich School opened its Armistice exhibition 'All Fades to Silence' in the Crypt Gallery. The exhibition  is a collaboration between pupils studying Design, English and Creative Writing. The exhibition is free to all and is open until Saturday 17th November: Monday - Friday 12-4pm, Saturday 11-3pm

Saturday 3rd November saw Norwich School host the first in a series of Maths Masterclasses for local Year 5 Pupils and their parents. The day saw 50 families from a range of Norfolk primary schools experience a morning of maths exploration and learning.

Norwich School pupil Alex Illing (L5E) had a successful weekend at the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing 2018 Grand Finals. The ISTD Grand Finals took place on the 3rd and 4th November at The Winter Gardens, Blackpool.

Congratulations to pupil, Jonathan Jolly (U6S), on being commended in the senior section of the Choir Schools Association (CSA) Centenary Composition Competition 2018. 

This year’s competition celebrated the CSA centenary and remembered the many choristers who served and sacrificed their lives during WW1. It was opened up to all pupils and choristers at choir schools and in cathedral choirs belonging to CSA and also saw the introduction of a new category for children aged 14-18.

Saturday afternoon saw an historical event take place in Norwich Cathedral. Those present were honoured to hear the author C J Sansom in conversation with his friend and fellow author William Shaw.

This event, hosted by Norwich School, Jarrold, and Pan Macmillan, was special for several reasons; CJ Sansom has been undergoing treatment for cancer for some time, and this was his first appearance in public for a number of years. For the Norwich audience the event was particularly exciting as the novel under discussion, Tombland, the seventh in the highly-acclaimed Shardlake series, is set in Norwich, and sees the lawyer Shardlake staying at the Maid’s Head hotel and visiting numerous Norwich landmarks, including the Cathedral and Castle, the Market, Mousehold Heath, and many more.
