A Trip to Iceland, the Land of Ice and Fire

22 November 2022

Amazed by the sights we saw and is definitely a place I would like to go back to again (EL – M5 pupil)

In October half term, 58 pupils from M5 to U6 visited Iceland to explore the wild and wonderful landscape of this land of Ice and fire!

During our 5 days exploring the south coast of Iceland, we were lucky enough to be wowed with a spectacular show of the northern lights and to see brand new land which formed after a recent volcanic eruption.

Pupils enjoyed a jam-packed week visiting beautiful waterfalls (Skogafoss & Seljalandfoss), the black basalt beach, glacier hiking, the golden circle tour and finishing the week with a relaxing morning spent at the Blue Lagoon.

'This was my fourth school trip to Iceland, and it was possibly my favourite trip to date! There is always something new and different to see and explore. Iceland really is a country that makes you want to come back time and time again. The pupils we took were such a credit to Norwich School and made our time in Iceland thoroughly enjoyable'.

I just wanted to thank you, your team and your students for one of the most enjoyable trips that I have led.  It was a privilege to be with you for the 5 days and I hope that I have instilled into your students, (and staff) the desire to return to Iceland on a private trip. (Our guide on the trip)

I had a great time, so thank you very much to you and all the staff for making it the best and sadly last school trip (TW - U6 pupil)

It was just the best trip! It was great getting to know pupils and staff better and sharing the passion and perseverance for finding the Northern Lights!  (Mrs Hill)
