On January 23, sixteen Norwich School pupils attended the Norfolk Schools Cross Country Championships at Wymondham College. With two medalists, Emi from U3 in 2nd and Bea Wells in 3rd in their respective races, Norwich School left the event eager for more.
The course consisted of flat and fast laps around the playing fields and through the woods but the rain and wind made for trying conditions. The target for each runner was to finish in the top 12 to qualify to represent Norfolk and seven of our athletes achieved this.
We had some excellent performances all around. Of the 16 runners we took, seven finished in the top 12 of their respective races and have qualified to run for Norfolk at the Anglians, which take place on Sat 3rd February in Lincolnshire:
The pupils to complete are as follows,
Niamh McAuley (U4)
Minnie Andrews (M5)
Amelie Ivie (M5)
Bea Wells (L6)
Nora Ostergaard (U6)
Congratulations to all those who took part in this terrific event!
