The 1sts XV faced a mighty challenge against an unbeaten Ipswich team who have recently defeated Sedbergh School who have been a top the national school rugby ranks for a number of years.
After an excellent first 15 minutes we took the lead with 2 Freddie Snary penalties. From there each side exchanged good phases of attack and came away with points. With Norwich 8 points behind with 2 minutes to play, they scored an excellent try leaving us 3 points behind at the final whistle. The team should be commended on their brave defence and intelligent and skilful attacking play conducted excellently by Oscar Ratledge.
Special mention to Kwame Bekoe for his monumental work rate for the full 70 minutes and to man of the match – Finnian Pond.
