Earlier this term, Norwich School hosted the annual countywide Year 5 & 6 Maths Challenges, which are organised by Douglas Buchanan, a retired Maths teacher. Over 200 pupils from 25 different schools competed in pairs to solve a variety of different puzzles within a high energy environment, trying to beat the clock and sprinting to get their answers marked! 

8 of our Lower Threes and 9 of our Upper Threes went along and took park. There were some outstanding individual performances, with Junaid A and Arthur C placing 3rd in the Year 5 event. This was then followed up by Bo B and Bayden C winning the Year 6 event, with Rowan K and Jack J finishing 3rd. An even greater achievement, however, was the fact that Norwich School was the highest scoring school across both events, which is a testament to the Maths teachers the pupils have had over their years at the Lower School. Looking ahead to next year, discussions are taking place regarding hosting events for Year 3 & 4 - watch this space!
