Six Lower 5 Norwich School pupils attended a science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) event at the University Technical College Norwich on Monday 25th November.

Pupils got the opportunity to design and build an underwater submersible vehicle to survey the ocean floor and assist with the removal of plastic and other damaging pollutants from the marine environment. Pupils got to design a robot, program and optimise it all whilst planning and delivering a marketing pitch. The group then displayed the robot's performance in front of an expert audience and teams from nine other regional schools.

Our pupils successfully completed the project and gave an outstanding presentation and demonstration of their vehicle.

Mr Hall, Head of Physics at Norwich School, said: "Pupil behaviour was impeccable and they were a credit to the school."

Pupils that took part were: Naraen Prabhaker, Edward Pearson, Matthew Hudson, Lauren Carter, Jemima Gotto and Jemima Hill.
