Cricket Catch-up - Norwich School Girls and Boys teams in action

The Girls 1st XI

The girls have continued their amazing form with a comprehensive 47 run win over Bedford on Tuesday thanks to n incredible 65 runs from Livi Hill. The girls bowled and fielded well to secure a place in the National quarter finals against Ipswich.

They have their first ever opportunity to play against the MCC this Wednesday afternoon in a T20 match on the Lower Close.

The U15 A lost in the semi-final of the Norfolk cup by 9 wickets to Gresham’s despite some stubborn resistance from Ava Fox and Immy Cook with the bat.

The U13B girls took part in a Norfolk softball competition held at Redmayne and competed against Norwich High school for Girls 13A and the Town Close 12 A squads. The girls played brilliant cricket throughout and can be immensely proud of their efforts as they won 4 out of 4 matches to secure the trophy.

The Girls 13C and D continue to go from strength to strength as they beat the girls school in their respective matches.

We had no block fixtures this weekend with the originally planned House cricket being moved to the 1st  of July.

This Tuesday sees the boys 1st XI play against the MCC at the Lower close

 

1st XI Boys

The 1st team picked up a comprehensive win against RHS after Roo Hollis (42) Lewis Reeder (38) and Ben Griffiths (38) on his debut enabled a good score of 221 in their 40 overs.

Sam Reynolds bowled a crucial spell and picked up 5 wickets for 9 runs including a hattrick that ensured a 104 run win.

 

2nd XI played in a high scoring game and lost by 9 runs chasing 206.

 

15A boys picked themselves up after a disappointing cup loss to Gresham’s in the week with a 7 wicket win after Aaron Abu with 4 for 6 and Mudewa Mhonda 3 for 6 had bowled the opposition out for 87. Captain Henry Blyth scored a valuable 43 not out to help win the game.

 

The 15B pulled off another good 8 wicket win as did the 13B’s who won by 157 runs.

 

Freddie Jupe scored 85 to help the 14A team to a 7-wicket win and a fine 61 not out from George Hunter ensured a 10 wicket win for the 13A boys.

 

The 14B boys had a superb all round performance from Zeetong Sun to thank for their 37 run win as he scored a blistering 31 and also took two wickets.

 

The 12A continued their form after the mid-week cup win over Thorpe with a 40-run win on Saturday. Earlier in the week they had also beaten Langley after Lucas Berney with 86 and Dylan Trickey with 47 not out helped them score a massive 180 for 2.

Toby Young 3 for 12 and Lucas Berney 3 for 2 ensured the win.
