Over the last year, the Norwich School Conversation Café has gone from strength to strength. Working with the local charity English+, Norwich School pupils have spent a couple of hours each week helping refugees from Ukraine improve their English. Better language skills means easier integration into a strange world and a better understanding of everything we take for granted around us, but which can be a mystery to others.

Every Wednesday evening, we have shared not only English grammar and vocabulary but also our pupils have shared stories about life in the UK. It therefore seemed to be a good idea, now that term is coming to an end, to have a celebratory drink and chat at that most British of institution, the pub!

We hope the conversation café will return even better in the Autumn with the continued support of our Sixth Form pupils.
