On Thursday 20th April, the Norwich School Chamber Choir came together to perform at the Parish Church of Thorpe St Andrew by kind permission of ON Father James Stewart.
Conducted by ON Caitlin Obee, the evening displayed a wide selection of unaccompanied choral music, spanning from the Renaissance to the present day. The programme took inspiration for it's theme from the famous Ancient Greek text, Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence, readings of which bookended the performance.
Many thanks to Caitlin, Father James, and the Choir for a beautiful evening of music.
The Norwich School Chamber Choir was founded in 2021 and the ensemble, currently formed of 15 pupils, provides the school’s highest-level choral singers with the opportunity to tackle complex repertoire in a small group. Many pupils wish to continue singing beyond their time at Norwich School and go on to become choral scholars at university, or to join cathedral choirs.
