This September our L6 and U6 Art and Design scholars had the opportunity to fly up to Edinburgh to visit local galleries, museums, studios and churches.
On Tuesday 20 September, well-known author, broadcaster and comedian Natalie Haynes addressed the full and bustling nave of Norwich Cathedral followed by refreshments and a book signing in the Norwich School Refectory.
On 21st September an appreciative audience of pupils, students, staff, alumni, creative artists and members of the Norfolk Contemporary Arts Society (NCAS) were privileged to hear the latest talk in the school’s Blake Studio.
15th September saw the welcome return of the school’s intellectual lecture series hosted on our site, with the first talk run by the East of England branch of the Royal Geographical Society (RGS).
Norwich School is proud to partner with the Royal Geographical Society (RGS) to host a new series of Youth Micro-Lectures on the theme ‘People, Planet, Partnership’. We invite pupils in Years 10 to 13 from any school across the East of England to apply to give a short lecture on a topic of their choice to a public audience including RGS Fellows and Members!
Wednesday 7 September saw the launch of the Hostry Festival 2022. As a proud sponsor of the festival, Norwich School is hosting a number of events including Paint out Artist in Profile in the Crypt and the Kanneh-Mason Classical Gala Concert in the Blake Studio. A cast of talented Senior School pupils performed in this year’s Cloister Play, a dark and gripping adaptation of Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’. Set in a war-torn state, the Macbeths are ruthless in their fight for survival and will stop at nothing to succeed.
In the words of the legendary author Victor Hugo "Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.” Thus thought a large and appreciative audience at Norwich School’s Making Musicians Summer Showcase on 5 July 2022 in the school’s Chapel, as part of our Gather22 programme.
Serval of our pupils represented Norwich School at the National Schools Chess Finals last week. Despite being ranked 19th, the team finished 6th overall, an impressive achievement!
