Chaos, Comedy and Spanish in the Blake Studio!
February 9, 2026
The Blake Studio was full of laughter this week as the Onatti Theatre Company brought their Spanish play to our school — and what a performance it was!
The show was all about a completely disastrous Romeo and Juliet rehearsal. From the very beginning, it was clear that nothing was going to go to plan. Lines were forgotten, cues were missed, characters argued, and everything that could go wrong definitely did. The chaos just kept getting worse (and funnier), and the audience loved every second of it.
Even though the play was entirely in Spanish, it was easy to follow and really enjoyable. The language was appropriate for our L4 and U4 students, and the actors spoke clearly and used loads of exaggerated actions and facial expressions to help us understand what was going on.
The best part? We weren’t just sitting and watching — we were part of the show. Students were asked questions, invited to respond in Spanish, and some brave volunteers even went up on stage. Everyone got involved, and it made the whole experience even more entertaining (and slightly chaotic in the best way).
Samuel Trickey, U4 said "The Spanish play was an amazing experience, and the actors spoke at a pace that was perfect for us as the pupils to understand. I think that they did really well in audience participation. They also made it very funny with over the top movements and expressions. I would highly recommend this to everyone even if they don’t do Spanish."
