Another successful Discover Your Ability Day with Able2B
August 19, 2026
Friends of Norwich School were delighted to support this event for the second year running
On Sunday 28th June the Lower School site saw the return of the 6th Discover your Ability Day with charity Able2B – over 500 people (250 of whom were participants) attended and took part with more than 60 pupils from Norwich School – partnering with pupils from other schools including many Special Schools. This day is like no other in the year! The event has helped to raise £20000 for the charity and is great for raising the profile of the charity and for raising public perceptions about what disabled children and adults are capable of.
Just over 50 Norwich School pupils took park in the event as team members, having paired with their teammate over several training sessions. The main event also saw support from the school's BSL club who performed on the main stage, along with the ever-popular DJ club! It was a really celebratory event!

Rachael Hutchinson, charity founder told us:
Perhaps the most inspiring part of the day, however, was watching the school children and young adults who had only met each other on three occasions come together as one team. Many faced significant physical, learning or communication challenges, yet those differences became strengths rather than barriers. Watching the Norwich School pupils embrace those differences, adapt naturally, encourage one another and work together so positively was genuinely inspiring. It is a tremendous credit to the culture of Norwich School, to your staff and to every single pupil involved.
Thank you to the Friends of Norwich School, whose grant covered transport for pupils to and from the training sessions and estates support on the day.
