WoLLoW
WoLLoW, World of Languages, Languages of the World, was created in 2021 and is taught to all pupils from Lower 2 to Upper 4.
Aims of WoLLoW:
- To foster curiosity and excitement around languages.
- To celebrate the multilingual skills, knowledge and experiences of our learners.
- To show the relevance of languages through interdisciplinary/cross-curricular lessons.
- To ensure our pupils are prepared, confident and equipped: ready to flourish in language lessons.
Vision of WoLLoW
WoLLoW brings joy into the languages classroom. It provides an introduction to, and an understanding of all languages: modern and ancient, European and Non-European. WoLLoW investigates language through the lens of cultural awareness and multilingualism. In so doing, it makes use of the rich linguistic diversity of our pupils and shows the relevance of languages to all other subjects. WoLLoW proves to pupils that languages are fun and engaging; important and relevant; accessible and achievable and celebrated in our classrooms.
