SAILING THE SEVEN SEAS! - THE INFANT MUSICAL PIRATES V MERMAIDS
May 24, 2024
At the end of the trinity half term, The Blake Studio was filled with an array of swashbuckling pirates, dazzling mermaids, hearty singing and humorous acting as L1 and U1 performed this year’s Infant Musical, ‘Pirates v Mermaids'. Set at Me Hearty High School, the story tells us of the struggles of Cap'n Scarypants and his somewhat motley crew of pirates who have a long-standing dislike and mistrust of all mermaids. The Seven Seas just aren't big enough for both pirates and mermaids. Sadly, none of the pirates can swim so they have to turn to the mermaids for help!
The pupils really brought to life this exciting and funny tale about fear, assumptions and why you should never judge people before you actually get to know them. The children worked tirelessly learning some expressive and fun songs, as well as delivering entertaining one-liners with polish and humour. A parent commented that it was an amazingly professional production for a cast so young.
Mrs Barclay commented “Everyone really stepped into their characters and we had enormous fun being part of this comical story. Congratulations to the whole cast!”
