Norwich School launches the first Norfolk EDI and PSHE networking forum

On the 22nd of June, Norwich School launched the first Norfolk EDI and PSHE networking forum with over 15 schools from across Norfolk taking part. The forum welcomed guest speaker Chanel Contos, an expert in consent and sex education who delivered a powerful keynote. Chanel is the founder of the Australia based Teach Us Consent, and was named one of the BBC’s top 100 influential women of 2022.

Chanel’s talk was followed by a pupil panel containing members of Norwich School’s Feminist society, who spoke to their experiences as young women, and the importance of pupil voice. The Afternoon concluded with facilitated discussions surrounding the importance of consent education within the PSHE curriculum, and the sharing of good practice.

The event was a successful platform for these important issues to be spoken to in a county-wide context, and is hopefully only the start of an important journey for Norfolk Schools.
