Lower 6 Enjoy a Treetop Adventure at Go Ape
September 19, 2025
Swinging through trees, jumping into spider webs and flying through the leafy canopy was an exhilarating activity I found myself doing three weeks into my Norwich school journey.
This trip was organised for an amazing day out of bonding with peers, connecting with nature and having fun. On a sunny day in Thetford Forest the Lower Sxith Form travelled to Go Ape and its adventure. Different groups left for the Go Ape challenge and Go Ape challenge plus at set times throughout the day, whilst simultaneously an extended game of football in the clearing kept those of us waiting entertained and active.
The 8 of us in my group were given our safety instructions and took part in the mini course (learning the ropes). After this we proceeded to scale to the height of the main challenge. Very soon our group was met by opposing obstacles which tested our logical thinking and pushed us to manoeuvre our bodies around the blockades. The Tarzan swing was the most surprising event of the day – an absolute stomach dropper! Apart from some occasional hold ups with people falling off and stoppage to call out at each other among the treetops, our successful and fun journey was uninterrupted.
Having joined Norwich School in September, the day was a great success and a good opportunity to get to know people. I look forward to similar opportunities in the future.
