PUPILS SHOWCASE FASHION AT CHARITY FASHION SHOW
June 30, 2023
Friday 30 June saw the Norwich School Charity Fashion Show return to The Space Norwich for the second consecutive year.
Organised by pupils from the Charities Committee as part of their Community Service, the show featured a blend of fashion lines, dances and live music and raised money for the Senior School’s charity of the term, Big C - a local charity committed to providing outstanding cancer support in Norfolk.
Planning began in Lent Term and included auditions for comperes, model training and extensive rehearsals, including a Model Masterclass with Sandra Reynolds Model Agency. All lines were modelled by L6 pupils, and lines included two sets from Vegas Vintage, a local boutique which specialises in vintage designer clothing; Coral eyewear; the Catfish and Dogfish collection and a sustainable fashion line with all outfits created from items purchased at the Big C charity shop.
In addition, there was a video featuring Lower School pupils modelling crowns they had made to celebrate the Coronation and an outstanding video showcasing A Level and GCSE Jewellery. The evening ended with a dazzling set from L6 3D and Fashion Club, who had created a series of fashion based around up-cycling and re-purposing, which was supported by Friends of Norwich School. Within 3D Design pupils were given two white school shirts as a starting point and encouraged to respond to the themes of pop art, surrealism or cubism.
Thanks to all the pupils who worked so hard to pull off an incredible event which was the final event in a year’s worth of fundraising for the Charities Committee, which has seen them raise in excess of £11,000 for charities.
