Outdoor Learning

Outdoor learning is part of everyday life, not an occasional addition. Children move freely between carefully planned indoor and outdoor experiences, using the Early Years Garden, adventure playground, allotment and wider natural spaces to investigate, create and take appropriate risks. Seasonal change, growing food, water play and close encounters with nature give learning authenticity and purpose. These experiences develop physical confidence, language, cooperation and an early understanding of sustainability, while allowing children the time and freedom to become deeply absorbed in their discoveries.
