Team-Racing Championships for Sailing

Two Intermediate Sailing teams travelled to Rutland Water on Saturday 13th May to compete in the BSDRA Eastern Region Team-Racing Championships. Their highly rated opponents were the Royal Hospital School, Oundle, Oakham and Rutland Sailing Club. It was sure to be a competitive race.

One team was captained by Rosie Pank, whose crew was Zoe Hornberger. The other boat was helmed by Ellie Thwaites and crewed by Isla Valpied.

Another team was captained by Milo Clabburn, whose crew was Alice Strike and the final boat was helmed by Callum Wallis and crewed by Toby Adlam.

Everyone performed superbly throughout the challenging day, displaying consummate skill as both helms and crews. They emerged as the top school team, gaining bronze medals in the process. This is an outstanding achievement and sets them up extremely well for the fleet racing national championships that are to be held in North Wales during the first four days of half term. The pupils involved were able to collect their medals in assembly and we wish them the best of luck for the national championships.
