Teachers in WoLLoW for The Day - L6 Pupils Visit Lower School

Last week, Lower Sixth pupils visited the Lower School to deliver a lesson on WoLLoW in preparation for them teaching in local primaries.

L6 Pupils, Will Jackson and Sophie Roy, share their thoughts on the session;

"Following a brief introduction of themselves, with particular enthusiasm from some Taylor Swift fans in Sophie's group, we began teaching a lesson on codes. Intended as an icebreaker, the ensuing activities were received fondly from both the Upper 3 and year Lower 2. They comprehensibly understood and performed what was asked of them, and had a lot of fun writing out their names in codes such as the Atbash cipher.  The Upper 3 group also had a go using a code created by us, and managed to understand it quickly.  Pupils who sought help were able to receive it from both of us, as well as from each other.  There was a real sense of community within the groups.  Will completed a second lesson on ancient Greek, which was met with equal enthusiasm.  All of the pupils were friendly and polite both to each other and to us as their temporary teachers.  We both thoroughly enjoying our time at the Lower School, noting especially how comfortable it is speaking in front of them.  We eagerly look forward to their next lessons."
