Friends of Norwich School Coffee Mornings

Friends of Norwich School is an independent charity aimed at enhancing the school community. Valuable work carried out by the Friends in the Second-Hand Uniform shop is complemented by hugely entertaining fundraising events that, together, generate funds that are ploughed back into the school community for bursaries and pupil activities such as clubs, societies and a prize fund. However, another of its primary aims is to offer parents and guardians the opportunity to meet socially, creating a useful network and sense of fellowship. All year round, the Friends meet monthly for informal get-togethers over a tea / coffee and pastries. Such events coincide with school drop offs, are very informal and inclusive, and there is also a brief sharing of news and updates.

In the upcoming Trinity Term we hope to offer a variety of venues (weather dependent) and differing days of the week: an event with a musical twist on 5 May in the exquisite medieval School Chapel; on 7 June an update on the school’s Jubilee Wellbeing Garden just off Bishopgate, so re-named by us in last year’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, to see the fruits of their labours of the school’s talented gardening clubs; finally, with a sunny end-of-term theme, on 4 July on the lovely Lower School playing fields.

The events run from 08:30 – 10:00 and are open to all (parents, guardians, ON parents, grandparents, siblings), with no prior booking, and with parking available. We especially encourage “regulars” to bring a new parent/ guardian along as a friend, in order to expand the community’s reach.
