LOWER 4 ENJOY THEIR RESIDENTIAL TRIP TO HAUTBOIS HOUSE
October 20, 2022
It has been a busy and exciting week for our Lower 4 pupils on their residential trip to Hautbois House.
They have been doing a range of activities including raft building, crate stacking, climbing walls and zip wires in the woods. It has been great to see so many smiles, teamwork and enjoyment of outdoor fun on land and in the river!
Freddie Mitchell (U6) and Olivia Elverson (U6) went along to support their fellow Repton House members and Freddie reported:
“Hautbois House provided an enriching experience for us all to get to know each other and build a strong bond with the L4, which is important to helping them settle into the new environment of the Senior School and Repton House.
Much fun was had on the water, building rafts and going kayaking on the river, and all the dance moves were on display around the campfire while toasting marshmallows and sharing spooky stories.
On the second day the competitive nature between the Houses was on display and the L4’s teamwork was tested as they competed in races up the climbing wall and during the crate stacking challenge, with Repton coming out victorious
It was a delight to spend such valuable time with the L4 and get to know them better. At the end of their experience, the pupils left in high spirits and there is no question that a few days at Hautbois House has really brought the them closer together."
L6 pupil, Tilly Hill, from Close Up, the schools own photography club went along to take some photos and remembers, fondly, her time at Hautbois House when she was in L4:
“Visiting Hautbois House now that I am in Lower 6 and seeing all the Lower 4 enjoying themselves so much brought back all the memories of my trip there when I was younger. I loved seeing all the places I had once been and how much fun the younger pupils were having too!”.
