Joanne Atkins

Miss Atkins was appointed at Norwich School as a teacher of Mathematics in 2024. She always had a strong interest across the Sciences but found most enjoyment from structuring and solving problems in Mathematics. Studying Natural Sciences (BSc) at university, majoring in Mathematics and Physics allowed her to explore these subjects in depth while appreciating their interconnectedness and real-world applications. Her favourite topics to teach are solving complex equations and, for the more senior pupils, Calculus and Projectiles. The ambition was always to teach, thriving off helping pupils build confidence in their abilities and enjoy problem solving. Her goal is to inspire pupils to appreciate the elegance of Mathematics and to leave the classroom not just with knowledge, but with the confidence and curiosity to keep learning.
