Jamie Leeder

Jamie Leeder received an MCHEM in Chemical Physics from the University of East Anglia (UEA) in 2007. He continued work at UEA researching a branch of theoretical chemical physics known as Quantum Electrodynamics (QED) before receiving a PhD in 2011. After authoring and co-authoring dozens of academic papers as a student and a postdoctoral researcher and having presented at several international conferences in the field of optics and photonics, it was in the teaching labs that Jamie always felt most content. Hearing the call of education, he enrolled on a PGCE (M) course, qualifying in 2012 before starting his first teaching job in Norwich as a chemistry specialist at City Academy Norwich. Jamie held the post of Head of Physics, then Head of the Science Faculty at Sprowston Community Academy, before moving to Norwich School as a teacher of physics in 2019. He is currently honoured to work as Head of Nelson House, and as Head of the Academic Enrichment Programme, where he is responsible for the school’s academic scholars and associated societies including Ethelbert and Erpingham.
