Glyn Manton

Mr Manton was appointed at Norwich School in 2016 as a teacher of Economics, later helping to introduce Business as a subject in 2018.


Having worked since the age of 16 while continuing his studies, including University, he built a successful career in Retail Operations, holding senior roles before realising that his passion for training and mentoring could be fulfilled more fully through teaching. Before joining Norwich School, he spent eight years as Head of Department in a local secondary school.



In addition to classroom teaching, Mr Manton is a Sixth Form tutor and has supported a wide range of co-curricular enterprise activities including fundraising for Charities such as Priscilla Bacon . He is also a senior examiner for both Business and Economics, contributing to assessment and curriculum development at a national level.


Beyond school, he is closely involved with endurance sports. A Committee member of one of Norfolk’s largest running clubs, he was formerly the organiser of the region’s fastest 5k event, the Wroxham 5k, helping it grow from 500 finishers to over 1,000. Long-distance cycling, running and walking remain regular pursuits.


Passionate about lifelong learning, Mr Manton has recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership and Management and is in the final year of his MSc. He brings this commitment to continuous improvement into his teaching, aiming to inspire pupils to combine knowledge with resilience, curiosity and ambition.
