Nicky Dunnett retired in 2022 after 23 years of loyal and dedicated service to Norwich Lower School. long time colleague, Gillian Wright, writes this fond tribute to her time with the school. In her time at Norwich School, she has been Form Tutor to a variety of year groups and has taught a range of subjects with accomplishment and flair. Her true passion and talent, however, has always been music. As Head of Music, she developed a love and appreciation of music, especially singing, throughout the whole school. She encouraged all to join the School Choir and the many musical groups, supported by an excellent team of peripatetic music teachers and Lower School staff. She created an elite choir, known as The Chamber Choir, which performed at many events and venues including The Royal Albert Hall, The O2 and smaller more personal appearances like Abbeyfields. Her choirs' achievements were best represented at the Norfolk County Music Festival, where they received a result above all others – 'Outstanding Plus'. Her talents did not stop there. She organised a plethora of concerts where pupils were able to delight audiences with their accomplishments. She also organised Carol Services and Musicals aplenty. By her side has always been Mr David Dunnett, who has been her accompanist and support through many of these events. Her enthusiasm and dedication made her an amazing teacher and colleague. Always there with a kind ear and reassuring smile. Her presence in the Lower School Common Room will be greatly missed. We wish her all the best in her retirement. I am sure there will be many more musical adventures to come. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Pupils performed the following song for her at her final Lower School concert.
