Alicia DeVega

Alicia de Vega was appointed joint Head of Spanish in 2022. She holds an MA in English Philology from the University of Salamanca as well as a Master’s degree in Teaching Languages as a Foreign Language. After completing her PGCE in 2013, she moved to the United Kingdom and has since worked in a variety of schools across Norfolk, where she also held the position of Head of Languages. She joined Norwich School in 2018, where in addition to Spanish she has taught French, mentored new teachers—including participants on the Teach First programme—and run an advanced grammar club. Beyond the classroom, she has been involved in community service projects, such as a soup kitchen in Argentina. She speaks English, Spanish, and French, and particularly enjoys linking current affairs to her A Level teaching to encourage students to engage critically with the language and culture.
