Ethelbert Society

The Ethelbert Society meets fortnightly and is open to all pupils in Lower 4, Upper 4 and Lower 5 with curious minds. We come together to discuss academic topics outside the school curriculum and we tailor our sessions to match the interests of our members. Ethelbert Society members receive training in how to give a presentation and how to hold a discussion. They are given the opportunity to present to the Society on issues that interest them, from the history of physics to the importance of books to the interesting world of elite cycling. We aim to foster a love of learning and discussion; we put the pupil at the centre of teaching and we create a safe environment where like-minded pupils come to feed their curiosity.
