GERMAN

ZDF website is good. Often programmes include subtitles in German; would be good for the most able as extension in terms of pronunciation and culture.

Germany: Memories of a Nation podcast on BBC iPlayer. Interesting for cultural and historical background of Germany:

Watching films on DVD with German subtitles on or watching German films with English subtitles and picking out new vocabulary.

Look out for classic German films and series on Sky and Netflix like ‘Das Wunder von Bern’, ‘Das Boot’, and ‘The Reader’.
FRENCH

For U5 French and above, watch ‘Lupin’ and ‘Call my Agent’ on Netflix. They are certificate 15.
