Pupils from Kyoto Discover what a Norwich School Education is About
March 26, 2025
This week Norwich School welcomed Professor Yasuhiro Udagawa and 18 students from Doshisha Junior HS in Kyoto to visit us and experience what a Norwich School education is like. They attended lessons in the mornings with their hosting partners in L5 and M5 and then took place in activities during the afternoons, including a trip down the air-raid shelter, the Norwich School treasure hunt and visiting the Cathedral as well as finding out more about the British educational system. They will also be visiting Cambridge and London before returning home.
Doshisha means “a community created by those who share the same aspirations” – and to that extent, the Japanese School shares the same ambition of ensuring that every pupil fulfils their potential, and creating pupils who are ambitious forces for good.
Pupils on both sides enjoyed the experience and the chance to get to know one another better. We hope that some of the pupils will keep in touch despite the distance. Thanks to Mr Goddard for his help on Tuesday and to Ms Freya Davis for her help over the three days.
