Pupils take 1st and 3rd prize at 2017 East of England German Network Creative Writing Competition

12 May 2017

The East of England German Network ran its first creative writing competition this year, with the friendly support of the Schroeder Fund, Department of German and Dutch, University of Cambridge.

KS4 German students in the Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex were asked to write a text in German on the topic: "Gestern Morgen ist dein Handy in die Badewanne gefallen (gluck gluck, weg war es…). Wie war dein Tag ohne Handy?". For those not proficient in German that loosely translates to “Yesterday morning your mobile phone fell into the bath (glug, glug, away it went ...). How was your day without your mobile phone?”.

The judges were impressed by the high quality of the entries throughout but awarded Kian Moghaddas (M5N) 1st Prize and Arjun Kamath (M5B) 3rd Prize.

The boys’ entries can be read on the EEG website here.
