L4 Travel Back In Time To Medieval England

14 March 2024

On Thursday 14 March, all L4 pupils headed north to the great medieval sites of Binham Priory and Castle Rising. The groups were blessed with glorious sunshine, and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of each location. Binham Priory offered L4 pupils a fantastic insight into monastic life, whilst also neatly setting up the U4 curriculum, by witnessing the effects of the Reformation and the dissolution of the monasteries. Castle Rising sparked mad theories on how best to attack the stone keep, with some sounding more realistic than others.

The History Department is extremely grateful to both sites for allowing us to visit; the trip was a great success and we hope the pupils enjoyed it as much as we did.
