Over the February half term, Isobel Mayhew (U4) donated 35cm of hair to the Little Princess Trust and raised over £500 in the process! In this blog, she tells us a bit more about what it was like to finally have the chop...
"On Wednesday 16 of February, I got my hair cut for the Little Princess Trust. I decided to get my hair cut when I first heard that it was possible to donate hair. After that, I knew I wanted to do it. I had wanted short hair for a while anyway and it seemed best if I didn’t waste my hair. (When I first wanted short hair I wanted a pixie cut! I couldn’t see it on me now!) I wanted to donate my hair because I want to make someone somewhere feel like someone again by the power of a human hair wig. I think it’s so amazing that so many people want to do this and so many already have. Getting it cut was absolutely terrifying! It’s the first time I can remember having short hair. I LOVE having short hair and I might change the style a bit but I’m really glad I did it after years of waiting."
