Pupils to enter School Gardens competition at the Norfolk Show

26 June 2023

LS pupils have been working for many months to design, plant, grow and nurture two wheelbarrows which will be entered into the School Gardens competition at the Norfolk Show. One wheelbarrow is a wildflower meadow, designed and planted by Infant pupils, with the aim of encouraging and supporting pollinators within our gardens. Pupils also re-purposed household materials such as tins, to create mini bug hotels within the wildflower meadow.

The second barrow has been created by the Gardening Club and is modeled on King Charles' sundial garden at Highgrove. As the theme of the show this year is 'the future' pupils chose to do this, as King Charles has been instrumental in championing the environment and wildlife for many years. Pupils even created a life-size King Charles from willow grown in the school garden!

Come and see the results of all our hard work in the School Garden area at the Norfolk show!
