L2 and U2 shine in a "clawsome scorcher of a musical!"

16 June 2023

Last Friday night, the Blake Studio was filled with an array of dazzling costumes, inspirational singing and expressive acting as L2 and U2 performed this year’s Musical, ‘Dragon Days’.

Set long ago in the Alpine mountains, the story tells us of the village of Stumbledorf which is terrorised by the sound of a fierce and ‘gargantuan’ dragon. Strangely, no-one has ever actually seen the hair-raising, blood-curdling, bone-chilling beast… The pupils really brought to life this exciting and funny tale about appearances, assumptions and why you should never judge a book by its cover!

Head of Performing Arts, Miss Webb, worked tirelessly with a group of L2 pupils to produce some wonderfully choreographed dance routines and Mr Vine, Director of Music, spent many music lessons teaching over 80 children a number of wonderfully expressive and fun songs. Directed by Mrs Hewitt, and assisted by Miss Essex and Mrs Barclay, a parent commented that it was an amazingly professional production for a cast so young. Miss Essex commented “Everyone really stepped into their characters and we had enormous fun being part of this amazing yet heartfelt story. Congratulations to the whole cast!”
