Lower 2 Pupils Become Artists for the Day
September 24, 2024
On Tuesday 24 September, Lower 2 pupils visited the Sainsbury Centre for a day of artistic exploration! Below are some thoughts from the Lower 2 pupils.
Cleo: On Tuesday, L2 went to the Sainsbury Centre to look at some art. After a snack, we went into the gallery to get some ideas for when we were going to do our paint workshop. When we were in the gallery, we looked at the sculptures. When it was time to do our painting workshop they told us some rules. Then we got our ingredients The ingredients our table used were 9 scoops of flour, 9 scoops of water. Then we got some special ingredients. The food colouring and powder were used to colour our paint to make a nice picture.
Hope: On Tuesday we had loads of fun. We went to the Sainsbury Centre Art Gallery and we looked at the sculptures. We were describing how they looked. We made paint after that. We painted on mini canvases. We used palette knives and we went in the sculpture park and we got to climb a sculpture. It was really fun. We saw a sculpture head and we saw a sculpture woman.
Joshua: How to make paint: 4 spoonfuls of water, 4 spoonfuls of flour, mix, 1 handful of flour while mixing, pour a little more water, gel, mix, soda. Dish onto plate and now add food colourings green, red, blue, purple.
Taanya: On the way to the museum I showed Aryan my lunch. When we got there we went to look at some of the artists’ work they did. All of them were brilliant! Next, we did some paintings and we got to make our own paint. It was awesome! Finally, we looked at the outside of the museum. We got to climb a step sculpture. One of the sculptures was a person naked on a roof! It was so funny!. Our trip was brilliant!
