ON Steffan Aquarone (95-02) is standing for MP

08 November 2019

ON Steffan Aquarone (95-02) has announced that he will be standing as the Liberal Democrats’ prospective parliamentary candidate for Mid Norfolk.

Steffan grew up in Norfolk but moved away to work as a producer and tech entrepreneur, before returning in 2015 to start a career in politics. He was elected as county councillor for the Melton Constable division of Norfolk County Council in 2017, and is a deputy group leader for the Lib Dems.

When Britain goes to the polls on December 12th, Steffan will be hoping to oust Conservative candidate George Freeman from the seat he has held since 2010. Steffan states the core pillars of his campaign as tackling the rural divide, bringing people back into the conversation about politics, and acting urgently on global warming. On his Facebook page he writes, ‘together, we can reboot politics!  We just need to reform and rebuild, as well as Remain, and agree what our positive vision for the future of society looks like.’
