Sixth Form candidates are assessed at an interview and activity assessment session. Candidates will be able to showcase their ability during the process by completing a written task, taking part in a lesson experience, participating in a creative or physical activity and at interview. The assessment sessions take place in the first week of December, with candidates being advised of their success or otherwise in gaining a conditional place prior to Christmas. Admission to the school would depend on a minimum of six 6 grade passes at GCSE; this is a minimum entry requirement and higher grades would be necessary in intended A level subjects. An academic reference will be requested from the candidate's school unless indicated otherwise at the point of application.
Scholarship assessments take place during November and the beginning of December.
The school hosts an ‘Introduction to Sixth Form’ evening in October, where prospective pupils and parents are able to meet and ask questions of the Head Master and senior colleagues. Further information can also be found in on our Sixth Form pages.
