Ski Success - British Champions!

26 November 2023

George Snelling, Rufus Snelling and Marcus Pop secured three good runs in the first attempt, Rufus catching the eye with a flyer of a first run, but there was work to be done. Pushing themselves on their second runs, all four boys were more assured and aggressive in their approach, and there is no doubt that this confidence was fuelled by the assurance of having three runs in the bank from their first attempts. Fortunately, Toby Watson‘s second run was without equipment mishap, and fourth fastest overall for the day.  A true team effort, therefore, with everybody playing their part to produce a brilliant outcome: first overall by a clear margin. This is the first time that Norwich School has won the British Schools Ski Championships.

So Norwich School currently are the English boys champions, British boys Champions and have both the Male (Toby Watson) and Female (Antonia Watson) individual English champions!

Next term our focus turns to the grassroots level with the ERSA schools ski race at the end of April where all skiers are encouraged to get involved, even if you’ve never raced before. We have a fantastic facility on our doorstep at Norfolk Snowsports Club that has various levels of sessions for aspirational ski racers.
