Pupils Perform a Special Jubilee Concert for St John's House Care Home

09 June 2022

Norwich School Lower and Senior School pupils Isaac and Eleanor played a special Jubilee concert for the residents, staff and families of St John's House Care Home.

St John's House Care Home is a local residence for the elderly with which the school has had a long relationship. For a number of years pupils, in Lower 6 have made weekly visits to the home to meet, chat and read with the residents, building great friendships along the way. Whilst the pandemic has put paid to visits for some time, the home was keen to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee in style and to once again welcome pupils, family and friends for the occasion.

On Thursday 2nd June, Upper 3 pupil Isaac and Middle 5 pupil Eleanor played an intimate concert of violin, piano and oboe music at the Home's Jubilee Party. St John's House also had some more special guests in the form of the Lord Mayor of Norwich and the Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk who came along to celebrate the day.

The pupils, staff and residents had a wonderful day thanks to the organisation of Wellbeing Manager at the home Fiona Mawby: "We can't thank you enough for supporting St John's House on this historical day, it was so heartwarming and we will never forget those magical moments together".

Both the school and the home are looking forward to our pupils returning to their usual visits very soon.
