Pupil Alex Ogden selected for England Alpine Ski Squad

21 May 2018

Congratulations to Norwich School pupil Alex Ogden (U4N) who has been selected for the England Alpine Ski Squad.

After a winter season of training and racing in the Alps with Apex2100 Alex gained the criteria for selection by being one of the top boys in his year in all three ski disciplines, Slalom, Giant Slalom and Super G.

After an early season knee injury Alex missed the early winter races but came back strong at the English Alpine Champs in Bormio in February, where he placed first in his year in slalom.

Alex spent the season living in Tignes and also raced in a number of French races and at the British Alpine Champs. Alex can now attend Snowsport England Squad training days and fitness assessments and he hopes to be selected to represent GB at an International Childrens race this coming winter.

During Alex’s time at Norwich School he has been key to the success of the school’s ski team.  Alex has raced in numerous Schools races and has helped his team to win the English Schools National Finals and the Eastern Region school ski race for the last 5 years.  Alex is also keen to encourage younger skiers at the school and is an inspiration to them.
