On Saturday four school teams attended the East of England regional round of the Cambridge Schools Debating Competition.

The pupils took part in four grueling debates in and around the historic Cambridge Union. There were 36 teams in total and we are delighted to announce that our senior pair of Grace Chan and Joslyn Lo placed first overall and will now go through to the national final. Joslyn and Grace have developed brilliant analytical skills and teamwork while debating for the school and as presidents of the Debating Society.

Meanwhile, Summer Nesbitt and Georgia Hodgson, our vice-presidents in U5, did very well and closely missed out on qualifying for the final. Our other pairings were Tom Wan with Charlie Jeffs, and Will Jackson with Barnaby; both teams came away with mid-table positions and saw considerable success for their first time out.
