Nelson House run the length of Britain in 12 hours for charity

15 May 2017

Congratulations to the pupils, staff and parents of Nelson House who, on Friday 6th May, successfully managed to run the 970km length of Britain around the Lower Close athletics track. Starting at 7am, an incredible amount of effort was put in throughout the day, culminating in the final 2425th lap being completed by Head of House Sarah Carroll just before 6 o'clock in the evening, an hour before their hoped completion time.

Special mentions go to Alex Hunt (U6N) and Sam Nicholls (U6N), who both completed full marathons, and Steven Denby (U5N), who managed to complete his half marathon before school even started.

Sincere thanks go to all those that gave sponsorship. The total amount raised so far for Nelson’s Journey and the RNLI is a fantastic £2374.89.
