Making Musicians concert leaves audience enthralled

19 October 2023

On 19 October 2023 an audience of parents, teaching staff and alumni were blown away by a Making Musicians concert in the School’s Chapel.

Making Musicians recitals provide music scholars with a valuable performance opportunities and give the audience a brilliant lunchtime concert set in beautiful surroundings.

The concert comprised two top quality recitals, one on guitar and one on the Chapel’s grand piano:

Daniel Cracknell, U6C, showed amazing dexterity and high accomplished technique on guitar with his repertoire of five pieces, all played from memory. Evoking the sounds of Spain, the audience felt transported to hot Mediterranean summers and tango dancing.

Anson Chan, U6V, was no less impressive with his three piano pieces including works by Haydn and Albéniz’ well known Granada. A grand finale of Hisaishi’s ebullient and fiendishly taxing Merry-Go Round of Life conclude the concert in style.

Both performers were warmly applauded by our appreciative audience, in awe of the musical skill that they had just enjoyed.

Our next Making Musicians concert will be in the Cathedral’s South Transept on 23 November 2023 at 13:10.

Entry is free to this concert and all are welcome, so do come along and join us. For details, visit: Making Musicians - Norwich School (norwich-school.org.uk)
