Leading mental health experts The Self-Esteem Team to talk to Norfolk Schools

27 June 2017

On Monday 3rd July, an event organised by Norwich School will bring together approximately 500 students from schools across Norfolk for a unique day of activities focused on mental health. The day will be led by Natasha Devon (MBE) and her Self-Esteem Team co-founders Nadia Mendoza and Grace Barrett.

During the event, year 9 pupils from Jane Austen College, Hobart High School, Framingham Earl High School and Norwich School will take part in interactive sessions about mental health. Topics will include 'performing under pressure', 'body image and self-esteem' and 'healthy ways to deal with difficult feelings.'

Event organiser and acting deputy head at Norwich School, Nicola Hill, is pleased that the important messages regarding mental health are being shared in the region by such highly regarded personalities. 'We were lucky enough to have Natasha Devon come and speak with our year 10 and 11 pupils earlier this year,' she said. 'Her message was so well received and I am thrilled that she is coming back along with the rest of her Self-Esteem Team, so that more people can benefit from hearing what she has to say.'

The award-wining Self-Esteem Team was a group set up in 2013 by Natasha Devon, Nadia Mendoza and Grace Barrett. They are on a mission to visit UK schools in a bid to equip young people with tools to navigate their mental health, manage the relationship with their bodies, and build more self-esteem than the generations before.

The event will take place from 9:30am – 12:30pm at Norwich School and Norwich Cathedral.
