L6 Pupils enjoy day of workshops with the Science, Art and Writing Trust

17 March 2022

On Tuesday 15 March, a group of 18 L6 pupils took part in a day-long series of workshops led by the SAW (Science, Art and Writing) Trust.

The workshops provided an opportunity for pupils to experience engagement with ideas in a collaborative and cross-curricular manner not typically possible within the constraints of A Level option choices or the typical school day.

The day involved three sessions, each linked around the theme of 'layers and colour'. The practical science component was led by scientists from the John Innes Institute, the creative writing component led by a visiting writer and the creative art component led by a visiting artist.

Pupils were challenged to think and work beyond the boundaries of their own A Level subject areas. They did this with enthusiasm and with great success.

Our many thanks to Dr Jenni Rant and her team for such an enjoyable and interesting day.
