Hockey Highlights

24 March 2023

It's been a packed couple of weeks for our hockey players.

On 14 March the U15s finished 4th nationally in the Independent School Hockey Cup. After drawing their semi-final to Manchester Grammar School 2-2 and losing on flicks and were defeated by a strong Whitgift school side in the 3rd and 4th placed match. This is the first time in the school's history that a Norwich School team has reached finals day which proved to be a great experience for the squad. Credit must be given as this group of players has had some outstanding results this term. The first XI team also played Royal Hospital School at home and won 6-1 with a solid team performance.

On the 15 March, the boys had their last junior block of the term, winning all 5 fixtures against Taverham Hall and this is credited to their development and work rate this season. U12s were in action the next day at the East Regionals Finals and competed really well and placed 11th.

Lower School had its House Hockey on Friday. Congratulations to Magdalen for winning the House Hockey Cup this year, it proved to be a highly competitive but fun competition for all.

Finally, the hockey club had its last block of the season last week against Framlingham College on the 18 March. The club recorded 7 excellent wins out of a possible 8. The results are as followed:

1st W 2-0
