Cricket Catch-up - an update from the girls

04 May 2023

It’s only three weeks into the Trinity Term and Girls Cricket has got off to an excellent start. The 1st XI lost by only 6 wickets to a strong Wymondham team at the Lower close on Tuesday, with Sophie Bush taking 2 for 7 as Wymondham chased down 76 with 4 wickets down.

There was a successful mid-week block for the Junior and Inter girls against Norwich High School, with strong wins for all the 13A, 13B, 13D,12A and 15A teams. Very impressive matches indeed for so early in the season.

Then at the weekend, the 1st XI girls travelled to Framlingham College for a match. We were down by 6 wickets but India Fox’s 31 runs saw us reach 102 after 20 overs at the end of the match.

Unfortunately, strong opposition meant they reached this target only 4 wickets down, with Boo Harrod bowling 2 for 22, a great bowling score.

The 14A girls enjoyed a comfortable win against the Framlingham College team, with Sophia Molineux, Charlotte Douglas and Imogen Cook continuing their form with the bat, while Sophia Betts picked up 3 wickets for 3 runs. Brilliant work!
