Norwich School Music Department has an exciting opportunity for violinists, viola players, cellists and double bassists from schools across Norfolk to play next to a professional musician from the Norwich Baroque Orchestra.

They are inviting interested musicians aged between 14 and 18 years, from schools across Norfolk to join the Gateway Players Senior Orchestra, for rehearsals every Monday from 16:15 to 17:15 at Norwich School Chapel (NR1 4DD).  Click Here for more information about the rehearsal schedule. If musicians are not able to attend all rehearsals, the school can provide scanned copies of the music for those interested to take home to practice, but they do ask interested musicians to let them know which rehearsals they wish to attend.

The concert programme includes:

Vivaldi Magnificat – strings only + oboe + continuo

Bach Harpsichord Concerto no.5 in F minor – Norwich Baroque only

The exciting premiere of Weeks Mass for Planet Earth - full orchestra strings, woodwind, brass and percussion

Faure Requiem  - strings, reduced brass and timps

The concert itself takes place on Wednesday 8 March, 2023 at 19:30 at St. Andrew's Hall, Norwich City Centre.
