8th Norwich Sea Scouts celebrate St George's Day in style

28 April 2017

The annual 8th Norwich Sea Scout St George’s Activity Day was held on the Lower Close at Norwich School last weekend. This year is the third time it has been run and it has become a major feature of the District's programme.

The event brings together Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts, aged 5 to 17, from groups from across the East Norwich District. The event marks not only the national day, but is also an opportunity for all to renew their Scout Promise and enjoy a multi-activity day of scouting fun, while meeting fellow scouts. This year over 350 young people and over 80 adults enjoyed activities ranging from water sports, pioneering, air rifle shooting and archery to bell ringing, cooking, bouncy castles and go-karting.

The 8th Norwich Sea Scout troop, which is linked to Norwich School, is one of the oldest, largest and most active scout groups in the UK with over 300 young people and adult members.
